Start the new year with a healthy breakfast that’s really easy and quick to prepare. We love this hot orange oatmeal recipe on cold January mornings. Add a colourful topping that reminds you of an inviting smoothie bowl.
2 cups quick cooking oat
2 cups milk (cow, almond, cashew, soy, etc.)
3 tbsp. orange juice
1 ½ tbsp. maple syrup
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. ground ginger
Zest of an orange
1. Combine all the ingredients in a pan and cook over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes or until the mix thickens.
2. Divide the oatmeal in two bowls. Top with chopped pistachios, marmalade or fresh orange cubes and zest.
